Land of Medicine Buddha is affiliated with the Foundation for the Preservation of the Mahayana Tradition (FPMT), an international Buddhist organization under the guidance of two Tibetan Lamas, Lama Thubten Yeshe and Lama Zopa Rinpoche.

The goal of the Center - based on the principles taught by His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama - is to promote healing and the development of a good heart, which includes the cultivation of compassion and loving kindness. As such, the Center aspires to teach principles for living that are universally applicable. The Center was purchased on the advice of Lama Thubten Yeshe in the mid-1980's and is open to Buddhists and non-Buddhists alike.

From the beginning, Land of Medicine Buddha has been blessed with many extraordinary teachers offering their guidance and wisdom and hundreds of students contemplating and actualizing this advice. This sincere energy plus the stunning physical beauty of this land and redwood forest setting, with its many holy objects, traditional Tibetan artwork, and comfortable guest facilities, has given Land of Medicine Buddha a unique and special quality for facilitating healing of body and mind.

In the troubled times of this world, Land of Medicine Buddha is a much needed haven of hope.
