Medicine Buddha Puja

8:00am - 9:00am, Daily

Prayers made to the Eight Medicine Buddhas are especially powerful because of the extensive vows they took to benefit sentient beings. In this beautiful practice, we recite names of the Buddhas, make offerings to them and chant the mantra so as to invoke their blessings. An extensive dedications follows, for people with health problems, business successes and specific requests.

If you would like us to dedicate for a specific person or project, please contact us. We request a donation for this service, towards the offerings for the puja as well as Sangha Support at Land of Medicine Buddha. Please give your contribution and dedication to the office.

"Medicine Buddha practice is so precious. You can do Medicine Buddha puja for any purpose, any problem, anything!" Kyabje Zopa Rinpoche, LMB, July 2001.

Making offering prayers to the Medicine Buddhas is called "encompassing all the Buddhas". This means that offering the seven-limb practice is the same as offering to numberless Buddhas, bringing numberless, inconceivable merit like the limitless sky! The special mantra of Medicine Buddha quickly actualizes prayers that the Medicine Buddhas made in the past, to bring happiness to beings by bringing causes for enlightenment, pacifying problems, fulfilling good wishes, and especially to help those who are troubled by illness. Medicine Buddha practice is extremely powerful and beneficial for the sick and dying, as well as those who have already passed away, and will help you bring deep and profound benefits to others with your chosen healing method.

Please let us know if you would like to add someone in need of prayer to the dedication prayer list, which we offer at the end of each daily puja. Dedications for people who have died will be made for the 49 days following their death. Please remember to let us know the date of death.
