Kitchen Manager Job Description
Land of Medicine Buddha
Land of Medicine Buddha is a busy
Center, catering for both spiritual retreats and courses, as well as
catering for group rentals plus staff, throughout the year.
The number of people being accommodated can be as high as 40-50 a
day. This is a great opportunity for a professional chef who is interested
in caring for people through the service of offering healthy, mostly
organic vegetarian food, as
free as possible of GMO’s, chemicals, additives or preservatives.
This is a
residential paid position.
Position available
immediately. Specific training will be provided.
The Head Chef responsibilities
include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Flexibility in your working
days and time
- Providing nutritious,
attractive, healthy vegetarian meals
- Adhering to the Health and
Hygiene requirements
- Being dressed and groomed in
a professional manner
- Establishing menus
- Creating kitchen staff
schedules
- Training the staff to a
professional level
- Effectively communicating
with the rest of the kitchen team, the Director, Assistant
Directors, and the Lower Office Manager
- Maintaining food standards on
par with local vegetarian restaurants/hotels/retreat centers
- Creating and maintaining a
cleaning schedule (Please note that the Head Chef is still required
to do basic cleaning duties as necessary.)
- Effectively
using left over/perishable items and seasonal produce.
- Continually looking for ways
to offer better service and food to our guests.
- Placing orders to local
suppliers
- Shopping for the kitchen
Tangible compensation for your
