Projects: Prayer Wheel
The Large Prayer Wheel This Prayer Wheel was built to
commemorate the visit of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, and his teachings on
the Heart Sutra in May 2001. Prayer Wheels send healing and peace through the
power of the prayers and mantras within the wheel. In the words of our
Spiritual Director Lama Zopa Rinpoche, “turning a prayer wheel
containing 100 million om mani padme hum mantras accumulates the same
merit as having reciting om mani padme hum one million times. By turning a
prayer wheel, in those few seconds, you perform so much powerful
purification and accumulate so much Merit.” Although this prayer
wheel looks quite complete it still needs to be fully filled with the
mantras as it is only partially filled at this time. Send healing
and peace through the power of prayers and mantras. We will inscribe the
name of your loved ones and friends on a metal plaque which will be fixed
to the four posts supporting the prayer wheel house on the largest Prayer Wheel at LMB.
When the Prayer Wheel is completed it will will
contain one hundred billion blessing mantras and your loved ones will be remembered each time the wheel is turned.
