Land of Medicine Buddha is a sacred space: a place dedicated to healing and renewing the heart. In this unique environment, among  redwoods with deer and the song of birds abound, you can enjoy fine walking and biking trails, be still with nature in the meadow, and discover the deep silence of the enchanted forest. Experience the blessings of the holy objects in the meditation hall, browse the library, turn the three beautiful prayer wheels, and relax in an elegantly-fitted modern bedroom...take the time to restore your inner strength and find a new depth of peace.

Our location provides a perfect space for guests to relax and recover from the strains of life. We are located between the Pacific Ocean and the California Redwoods, our forest and meadows extend into Nisene Marks State Park. We are only ten minutes from Highway One.

You don't have to be a Buddhist to be our guest!

Facilities available include two halls (see details below), overnight accommodation for up to approximately 50 guests, (18 rooms), vegetarian kitchen, dining room, book and gift store, sauna and walking trails. Audiovisual and other equipment is available.

Gompa/Meditation Hall

The Gompa/Meditation hall (60' x 30') is perfect for large groups (up to 200) and is suitable for lectures, meditation, bodywork and movement exercises. This is also our main meditation hall complete with carpeted floor, high ceiling and skylights. It is equipped with a wood stove and a gas heater for cozy gatherings in winter. This is a truly bright, inspiring atmosphere.

The Pine Room/Meeting Hall (50' x 24') Our newly renovated Pine Room (50' x 24') is designed for medium groups (up to 150) and is ideal for lectures, workshops, bodywork and movement exercise, eg- Yoga, Tai Chi, etc. The bright skylights and high ceiling create a warm, natural setting for group events.

Our chefs provided are happy to prepare delicious vegetarian meals for your group at an additional fee. A continental breakfast is followed by a large, wholesome lunch, and a light, nutritious dinner. 

You might know that Land of Medicine Buddha serves Vegetarian Cuisine but did you know…
Land of Medicine Buddha is committed to right livelihood and sustainability. We care about the environment and your health that is why we now serve: 

Organic Low fat and Whole Milk, organic Soymilk, organic Miso, Organic Tempeh, organic Tofu and Tamarin.
Our Dairy products have NO Bhst (Bovine Growth Hormone) in them!
Our Eggs are Cage Free and have No Antibiotics or Growth Hormones.
The Cereal we serve has No Preservatives and we feature mostly organic cereals with No Hydrogenated Oils.
Most of our Spices are Not Irradiated.
We serve Sprouted Wheat Bread for those with gluten sensitivities.
Our Grains and Beans are all Organic.
The carrots, beets, bananas, salad greens, spinach, sunflower sprouts, arugula, cherry tomatoes, kale, chard and mustard greens are always Organic.
Most of our fresh herbs are too. We do our best to feature all other Organic produce when ever possible, most of the time it is only down to availability seldom because of pricing.
All our food is cooked with Olive oil, safflower oil and non GMO Canola oil.
The water we use for cleaning and cooking is from our own well, it is filtered and osonated but does not contains chlorine. The quality of the water is tested and sent to the County office on a regular basis.
We cook with Love and in a happy atmosphere dishes that have character rather than coming out of a profit oriented recipe sheet.

Facility Rental Fees:

Our facility rental package includes overnight accommodation for up to 50 guests – which includes meals & drink service in our dining room, a book and gift store, pool (seasonal), sauna, and walking trails. Audiovisual and other equipment is also available. Lodging room check-in time is 4 pm, and check-out time is now 11am (with a $25 late check out fee if applicable)
