Sleep in a
beautiful clean and spacious Bed and Breakfast nestled in the gorgeous redwoods
for less money than most of your other options in town. We offer you an an
opportunity to step out of the norm and experience a refreshing, calm and
welcoming stay. We are only a five minute drive from Highway One and downtown
Soquel and just fifteen minutes from downtown Santa Cruz.
We are open to the public year round and welcome everyone who wishes to come enjoy our sacred space. We are situated in 170 acres amongst the redwoods in Soquel, California, just south of downtown Santa Cruz, and are adjoining 10,000 acres of state forest. Our physical location provides a perfect space for guests to relax, connect to their spiritual inner being, and recover from the strains of life.
Land
of Medicine Buddha is also an outstanding place to visit anytime.
In this unique environment, where redwoods, deer and the song of birds
abound, you can enjoy fine walking and biking trails, be still with nature in
the meadow, visit the enchanted forest, admire the beauty of our superb temple
in the forest with its traditional Tibetan art work, visit our inspiring
meditation hall, turn one of three beautiful prayer wheels, browse in our
enticing Bookshop, unwind in the sauna, swim in the pool, relax in an
elegantly-fitted modern bedroom, enjoy our delicious mainly organic vegetarian
food - take time to restore your inner strength and find a new depth of peace.
You are welcome
to stay with us at Land of Medicine Buddha without participating in a workshop
or retreat. Room rates include the use of all facilities. You don't have to be a
Buddhist to visit us!

Meditation Hall and
Memorial Shrine
Decorated in the Tibetan
Buddhist tradition, the Meditation Hall is a perfect place to sit in quiet
reflection. The Memorial Shrine is a traditional Buddhist temple, with
beautiful wall paintings depicting Buddha's life story. Set upon a hill,
it offers a secluded spot for meditation.
Vegetarian Dining
Our
outstanding chefs provide delicious vegetarian meals. During the week, we
also offer a large, wholesome lunch. A
continental breakfast is complimentary for our Bed&Breakfast guests.
Although we have not changed our
pricing for the last three years Land of Medicine Buddha has taken
strong steps toward using organic and healthier food for all our meals
as well as biodegradable cleaning supplies. To allow for the
continuous growth of our center we need to update our pricing for this
new year. Our lunch
will now be $12.50 including taxes, dinner (when available) will be $10.50

You
might know that Land of Medicine Buddha serves Vegetarian Cuisine but did you
know…
Land of Medicine Buddha is committed to right livelihood and sustainability. We
care about the environment and your health that is why we now serve:
Organic
Low fat and Whole Milk, organic Soymilk, organic Miso,
Organic Tempeh, organic Tofu and Tamarin.
Our Dairy products have NO Bhst (Bovine Growth Hormone) in them!
Our Eggs are Cage Free and have No Antibiotics or Growth Hormones.
The Cereal we serve has No Preservatives and we feature mostly organic cereals
with No Hydrogenated Oils.
Most of our Spices are Not Irradiated.
We serve Sprouted Wheat Bread for those with gluten sensitivities.
Our Grains and Beans are all Organic.
The carrots, beets, bananas, salad greens, spinach, sunflower sprouts, arugula,
cherry tomatoes, kale, chard and mustard greens are always Organic.
Most of our fresh herbs are too. We do our best to feature all other Organic
produce when ever possible, most of the time it is only down to availability
seldom because of pricing.
All our food is cooked with Olive oil, safflower oil and non GMO Canola oil.
The water we use for cleaning and cooking is from our own well, it is filtered
and osonated but does not contains chlorine. The quality of the water is tested
and sent to the County office on a regular basis.
We cook with Love and in a happy atmosphere dishes that have character rather
than coming out of a profit oriented recipe sheet.
We
